Hundreds years ago the city of Pompeii was destroyed by the most powerful eruption of Vesuvius. It is difficult to say if the city would be so popular nowadays, if this hasn’t happen.
It is believed that it was just a matter of minutes for the suddenly awakened volcano to destroy Pompeii and Herculaneum at its foot. However, the sequence of events was a bit different.
